As you all know, I’m a huge fan of natural beauty products. It’s kind of scary the amount of chemicals we put into our bodies and onto our skin on a daily basis. Seriously, just imagine what all of those icky, synthetic properties are doing to our insides right now. If that isn’t terrifying to you, then I don’t know what is! This is why I’ve been such an advocate for switching over to natural skincare.
In case you’ve never heard of them, the Detox Market feels the same way. They’re all about beauty products that are free from harmful additives and chemicals, and want to inspire healthy lifestyles. Located in both West Hollywood and Toronto, The Detox Market’s goal is to curate the best of natural beauty, all while ensuring that their products are always cruelty-free.
Since the Detox Market recently opened a Union Station location in Toronto, I thought I would check it out to see how the space differs from their other two locations in the city!
The Space
This Detox Market location is totally different from the rest, and very well-suited to it’s new home at Union Station. If you’re not from Toronto, think of Union Station as the busiest metropolitan hub in your city. This is where our subway, trains and paths connect underground to create the bustling core of the city. Fun fact about all of the new stores that are now located in the Union Path: many of them have to keep a lot of the original industrial pieces that were originally integrated into the station. This may have been challenging for other stores that now populate the area, but the Detox Market has really run with it. Infusing lots of wood, organic shapes and plants into the store, it’s definitely true to it’s core values. My favourite part about this location is that it’s also the most luxe location – taking the stress out of being in such a wild hub and making it more lavish.
The Goods
Think lots of goodies filled with lots of goodness. Everything is toxin-free and natural, so you don’t need to worry about what you’re applying to your face every time you carry out your beauty routine. To give you an idea of what they carry, here’s a list of their best sellers:
- Odacité
- Marries the best of luxurious French skincare with green California living by using super high-quality ingredients.
- Tata Harper
- Think green skincare meets luxury.
- May Lindstrom
- Featured in so many amazing publications for it’s skincare results.
- Province Apothecary
- Which is the most bang-for-your-buck brand available in-store.
- Indie Lee
- Which I’ve totally written a blog post on before. Check it out here!
They not only have skincare products, but they also have lots of natural cosmetics brands to choose from! Some of the brands they carry include:
- Kjaer Weis
- I’ve tried a few different products from this brand (they even gave me a mini-makeover once upon a time!) and I’m obsessed.
- Well People
- That’s right, the natural brand that went into Target in the US (can I get an amen for making natural products more accessible?!)
- RMS Beauty
- Which, I’m told, all the celebs wear.
I was even gracefully gifted some travel essentials to try out for myself. Here are my thoughts on a few of them!
Odacité Ultra Effective Eye Cream
Formulated with organic blue green algae, this product stimulates cell vitality and the renewal of the firming tissues. It’s very lightweight on the skin, but super soothing. I’ve only been using it for a week and I’m already in love. Pro tip: leave it in the fridge to have that extra-special cooling effect.
Province and Apothecary Moisturizing Cleanser and Makeup Remover
Made with avocado and raspberry Oils, these hydrating properties remove make up and excess oil – restoring skin’s natural radiance, while gently cleansing. It doesn’t over-dry your skin or destroy its natural pH, either!
Rahua Classic Shampoo & Conditioner
This haircare duo is rich with the restorative qualities of rare Amazonian ingredients, sustainably sourced and specially formulated to revitalize your hair. Daily use not only helps maintain a healthy scalp, but it also helps your hair stay strong.
Within the past couple of weeks, I’ve actually switched over to using natural deodorants! For the same reason as why I prefer using natural skincare products, I didn’t want to unnecessarily expose myself to the aluminum that’s in most deodorants. This one works great as a detox, since the charcoal in this deodorant binds with toxins and bacteria and pulls them out of the skin.
MV Rose Soothing & Protective Moisturizer
Super-hydrating and soothing formula makes this moisturizer ideal for extra-sensitive skin, including those with eczema and rosacea. I love wearing it at night to sooth my skin after a long day (and a harsh winter)!
This light, yet moisturizing lip balm is saving my lips this winter. Not going to lie, it’s on its way to becoming a staple in my purse.
I have to say that I’m loving all of the natural skincare and beauty products that I’ve tried so far and I’m definitely considering making the full switch for my skin soon! If you’re in the Union Station area, definitely check out the Detox Market’s newest location. And if you’re not from Toronto – they have a great curation of products online as well!

The shop looks so nice! I need to get better at using more natural products, but I’ve been trying to use more mineral makeup and I’ve been using natural deodorant for years.
Wonderful shop! I just bought my first mask from natural products. A little scares that her shelf life is very small and should be stored only in the refrigerator. I can not share my impression, I used it only once.
That looks like such a friendly and inviting shop! Next time i’m there I’m definitely checking it out!
