When it comes to commitment, I’ve never really been dedicated to a certain haircare line. I’ve never only used a specific shampoo, its bestie conditioner or the rest of the respected haircare products. Why, you may ask? Well, even though I’ve tried a bunch of different ones, I’ve never really found that they’ve made a huge difference for me. I mean, I have super thick, slightly poufy, but a mostly pretty straight hair type. With all the different problems my hair faces, I feel like one shampoo and conditioner can’t really get me all the results that I’m looking for.
A couple of weeks ago, after going to a Viviscal hair event at the Hazelton Hotel, I started to wonder if maybe I just wasn’t using the right haircare lines. When I returned home, I was pleasantly surprised to find the new shampoo, conditioner and hair elixir in our goodie bags. It was finally time to see what the hype was all about.
The Gorgeous Growth Viviscal haircare line is designed to make hair appear thicker and fuller. Now, I know what you’re thinking – didn’t you just tell us that you have really thick hair?! Yes, I do friends and I’m very proud of it. I love having thick hair. Sometimes it may morph into an afro on unwanted occasions, but for the most part, I adore my lion’s mane. Blended with biotin, keratin and zinc, the whole line is supposed to help promote healthy looking hair growth.
When I used the shampoo and conditioner in the shower, I was happily surprised to find that both products weren’t overly fragrant. Nothing is worse than washing your hair with a shampoo that smells stronger than your perfume. Both were super gentle, but still cleansed my hair really well. After using the shampoo and conditioner, something I noticed was the fact that my hair didn’t feel heavy at all. The problem with having super thick hair is that you need to put so many products in it to tame all of the frizz, but it often also weighs your hair down. This line didn’t make my hair fall flat (which is pretty magical if you ask me)! Even the hair elixir was super light and didn’t make my hair greasy either (something unfortunately that happens with a lot of products for myself).
Even though I love keeping my hair short, I want to grow it out a couple of inches for the summer months — so I’m excited to see where this haircare line leads my locks. Who knows, maybe if I stay dedicated to it, I’ll get to see the full results soon! Stay tuned and we’ll find out together.
