My First Time: Spring Cleaning My Wine Rack

As the seasons are shifting and it’s starting to finally feel like spring in Toronto, it’s definitely time to get a headstart on my spring cleaning. I love that feeling of tidying up, putting away winter bits and bobs and getting rid of anything that I haven’t used in a little while.

This year, and with the warmer weather in full-swing at this point, I thought I would clean out something that I keep near and dear to my heart…. my wine rack! My wine rack (from Amazon) was getting to that weird point where it was filled with half-full bottles of red wine that kept me cozy in the winter months. With a light dusting and a quick clean out of all the bottles that basically had one glass-full left in them, I decided to refresh my wine rack with some lovely springtime bevvies.

Here’s a look at my  “Celebrate-Springtime” drinks of choice:

Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc

This light and crisp white wine is great for those warm spring days where you just want to sit on your balcony or in your backyard and soak up every last bit of sunshine. This sauvignon blanc definitely has hints of peach and citrus notes, and a subtle aroma of grass and gooseberry. If you love a good charcuterie board, this wine definitely pairs well with goat cheese and green veggies.

La Marca Prosecco

This Prosecco is great for those spring and summer months that you want to celebrate in style. This light and off-dry Prosecco has notes of apple, pear and lemon zest upon first sips and leaves hunts of almond and marzipan on the tongue. This drink pairs well with just about anything, but tastes especially amazing with some grilled salmon! Another great way to enjoy this Prosecco is with some OJ for a well-deserved-Saturday-morning-mimosa (best served with friends in a park and an accompanying picnic!).

If you’re looking to clean out your wine rack (or to just celebrate spring with a little bevvy or two), then definitely check out two of my favourite drinks of choice for the warmer months ahead!

With love,

    1. Haha yessss girl you totally do!! Who doesn’t need a few new bevvies in their wine rack collection 🙂

  1. I have to get a wine rack as well, until now I only had a wine drawer in which my wine’s lifespan is quite short really. I love sipping a glass of wine to dinner sometimes (especially when cooking italian food) and otherwise I never buy it, but I think such racks look very stylish and there’s nothing better than a glass of wine, dimm lighting and some candles.

    1. Awe thanks so much for taking a read, Dorota! Ans that sounds like a perfectttt night if you ask me!

  2. I’m so glad to hear Toronto is finally warming up. I couldn’t believe it when that most recent snow storm hit. No more, no more! Both wines sounds delicious, I want to try them!

  3. I like how this blog post correlates to your blog name. Oooh! I like how you’re doing spring cleaning on your wine rack. I am a total sucker for white wine and the prosecco sounds delicious.
