My First Time: Protecting My Hair With OGX Orchid Oil

If you’ve ever dyed your hair, gotten highlights or even just ombrΓ©d the ends of your hair, you’ll know that with the more colouring processes you try, your hair really feels the damage. The worst part is that styling your damaged hair will even further cause the destruction of your strands. I’m at the point where I’ll literally try any haircare line if it promises to protect my hair. This is why I was super excited to try out the OGX Orchid Oil collection and give my locks some much needed TLC!

One of the benefits from this line is the fact that it has a UVA/ UVB filter blend, which helps avoid your hair colour from fading. The only thing worse than hair dye fading is the fact that you’ll need to head to the salon for a touch-up…meaning more damage in the end. The combination of orchid extract and grape seed oil in this shampoo furthermore helps to reduce premature fading, while also moisturizing and replenishing strands.

Pro tip for using the conditioner: after rinsing out your shampoo and working the conditioner into your hair, leave on strands for 3-5 minutes before rinsing out. Many people don’t think this actually does anything, but by giving the conditioner time to settle into your coloured strands, you’re actually giving it the nourishment it needs. It’ll seriously help your locks retain just the right amount of moisture.

Funnily enough, I’ve had so many of my friends recommend this shampoo and conditioner combo for damaged hair, so I’m so glad I got to finally try it out! If your hair is in need of some moisture, TLC or R&R, try out theΒ OGX Orchid Oil collectionΒ today!
