My First Time: Learning How To Manage Meal Time with Findus Steam Delicious

If you just follow me on Instagram and you don’t know too much about my personal life, I’ll let you in on a little secret – blogging is only half of what I do with my time. During the regular 9 to 5 hours, I work in the tech industry. So, as you can imagine, I’m pretty busy a majority of the time. With my day job, blogging, photography, writing, running my social media channels, going to events, seeing my friends and boyfriend and also attempting to go to the gym 4 times a week, let’s just say that I live a pretty active (or crazy) lifestyle.

Unfortunately, since I’ve started blogging, I’ve noticed that my good eating habits have completely gone out of the window. Most nights I rely on frozen pizzas and pasta thrown together with whatever’s in my fridge merely because it’s easy. I mean, who really has the time to put together a healthy meal when you’re always on your feet, right?

The health-conscious folks at Findus wanted to prove me wrong! They decided to lend me a hand in the kitchen (figuratively, not literally) and educate me on how I could make fast meals, that were not only delicious, but great for you too.

Here are the simple steps to cooking the Steam Delicious fish:

Step One:

Open the Steam Delicious boxes to reveal the packaged fish inside. I decided to try out the Cod with chive and herb butter flavour (I know, I’m drooling right now as I’m reading that again). Leave the fish in the plastic and place on a microwave-safe dish. You don’t want to puncture the plastic so that the steam that’s collected within the container can cook the fish properly and easily. Then, you want to set your microwave to 3-4 minutes. My rule of thumb is that if you’re cooking more than one fish, you’re going to want to leave it in the microwave for closer to the 4 minute mark. If you prefer to use the oven, you can do so for 25-30 minutes (but let’s be real, I’m on a time-crunch, friends!)

Step Two:

Get your sides together. This will probably take you longer than preparing the Steam Delicious fish since that process is pretty seamless, so you might want to go ahead and make this the first step. I like to cook loads of quinoa and leave it in my fridge, so I can just add it to my meals during the week. I also find that green beans are pretty fast to cook on the stove, so I like to splash some oil, salt and pepper on them and call it a day.

Step Three:

Take your Steam Delicious fish out of the microwave. Slice the bag open at one end and let the fish slide out of the packaging (also be careful, because the steam will obviously be hot). Then, take the remaining seasoning and pour over the fish. Add your sides to your plate and voila! It’s really that simple. And delicious.

Thanks to the lovely people at Findus, I can now make quick and easy meals without worrying that I’m not eating healthy. It’s seriously made meal prepping so much faster and now I can spend more time on what I love doing most – eating!   1. OMG my eating habits have been so erratic since I started blogging! haha. I’ve been trying to cook more at home but it’s still hard to do when you live that kind of life and you don’t have 2 hours to really cut ingredients and stuff. I’ll try Findus! Looks like a simple and quick way of making a home cooked meal!


    1. Bahaha I know right, it’s like literally WHO has time for that?! It’s seriously amazing for quick meals when you don’t have the time for all of that nonsense prep work!
