My First Time: Combatting Tech Neck with Jouviance

Chances are that you’re starting to get tech-neck and you don’t even know it. Tech-neck is the commonly used phrase for the lines that you get on your neck, under your chin, from looking down at your devices too much. This can also result in drooping jowls and sagging skin. Not a cute look.

You can get tech-neck from just about anything in the digital age – so, even if you’re not a blogger, Instagrammer or work in tech, you can absolutely get tech-neck. On average, between women and men, ages 18 to 39, that have an average of 2-3 digital devices… we peek at our devices up to 150 times a day! Scarily enough, this accelerates the impact of gravity and natural loss of the skin’s elasticity. If you’re as crazy about anti-aging as I am, then there are my steps below on how to fight tech-neck!

Steps to combatting tech-neck:

Step 1: Keep devices at eye-level

Even though this can be challenging at times (and no one wants to look like that weirdo staring straight into their phones or laptops), it’s always best practice to try and keep your tech devices at eye level. By removing the opportunity to look down, you’re decreasing the likelihood of getting tech-neck lines in the first place. Yes, it may feel funny at first, but avoidance is the best key to prevention my friends!

Step 2: Reduce screen time

This one is probably the hardest step, but a definite must if you’re trying to combat tech-neck. If you can’t keep devices at eye-level (or you’re in public, and kind of don’t want to look super strange to on-lookers), then that means one thing – avoid, avoid, avoid! Try listening to a podcast or some music instead of scrolling through your Instagram feed. It’ll save you from tech-neck in the future and using precious data in the now.

Step 3: Invest in the proper beauty products to help you fight the signs of tech-neck

The last, and probably most important step in combatting tech-neck is definitely to invest in beauty products that target the issue. Sure, you’re young and the elasticity in your skin in great right now — but honey, that won’t last forever! Luckily, the folks at Jouviance knew that this issue would be up and coming in younger, tech-savvy generations, so they created a neck sculpting gel concentrate! Jouviance’s Contour Plus uses 5 active ingredients that boosts collagen & reduces collage degradation, lifts and firms skin so that you don’t have to worry about getting tech-neck every time you look at your phone. It’s also light-weight, so it soaks into the skin super fast. Don’t forget – when you’re applying skincare products to your neck, move in an upwards motion. Gravity is already against us anyways, so don’t try to help it out!

  3. I love how rich the Jouviance bottle looks. Oh man, I didn’t know that fact about skin elasticity going down with the use of devices. Keeping your devices at neck level also eases the stress on your neck/back. These are great tips in battling tech neck. Thanks for sharing these tips! 🙂

    1. Totally a thing — and so scary to think about how it slowly gets worse every day you don’t think about it! Haha yea that’s the one thing I struggle with too!
