It’s confession time my friends; I’m not huge on alcoholic drinks that taste too boozy. As much as I want to be hardcore and tell you that I love to order a good Old Fashion or Negroni, the truth of the matter is that I really don’t enjoy alcoholic beverages that are super strong. I mean, why choose a drink that you can’t sip and enjoy because of its overpowering flavours?
Here’s a fun fact about me: I absolutely adore ordering cocktails when I go out to dinner or to a bar. I love fruity mixed drinks and concoctions that I’ve never tried before. You can definitely call me a cocktail girl!
Since summer is coming up (and therefore many birthdays and cocktail-enjoying occasions in the near future), I decided that I wanted to learn how to make some fun and tasty drinks that can be enjoyed at home. Since I’m not a mixologist whatsoever, I wanted to make some DIY cocktails that were super simple, yet utterly delicious. For that reason, the lovely people at E.D.SMITH and I decided that some easy jam cocktails were definitely a must for the upcoming spring and summer months.
R A S P B E R R Y G I N J A M L E M O N A D E
Ingredients & Tools:
- E.D.SMITH Triple Fruits Raspberry, Strawberry & Blackberry
- Lemon juice
- Ice
- Gin
- Jigger
- Cocktail shaker
- Cocktail strainer
- Stirring spoon
Steps:
This DIY cocktail is a delicious take on a raspberry lemonade, but obviously made for the drinking pleasure of adults (however, if you have little ones at home that you want to make some mocktails for, feel free to sub in water for liquor measurements).
- Add in two large spoonfuls of E.D.SMITH Triple Fruits Raspberry, Strawberry & Blackberry to your cocktail shaker. Add a dash of water to the jam and mix thoroughly with stirring spoon. E.D.SMITH jams are super light and break up pretty easily in the shaker, but I find that if you do this first, it disperses the flavour of the jam more evenly throughout your beverage.
- Add some ice cubes to your shaker. If you’re feeling more like a summertime alcoholic slushy, add in shredded ice to the mix (just add it at the end, so it doesn’t melt as quickly!)
- Fill your jigger halfway with lemon juice and add to shaker. In case you wanted to share this recipe with a friend and you wanted to give them an exact measurement, a jigger carries 1.5 oz of liquor. So, half of that (I’m terrible at math).
- Fill your jigger with gin and add that to shaker. If you want to make it a little stronger, add another! The best part about the jam is that it’s sweet enough to cover the strong taste of any liquor you want to add to your beverage.
- Pop the top back onto your shaker and… well, shake it! When you’re done, place the cocktail strainer onto the mouth of your shaker and pour into a glass to be enjoyed.
E L D E R F L O W E R V O D K A & A P R I C O T J A M C O C K T A I L
Ingredients & Tools:
- E.D.SMITH Triple Fruits Apricot, Peach, Passion Fruit
- Lime juice
- Elderflower soda
- Ice
- Vodka
- Jigger
- Cocktail strainer
- Stirring spoon
- Cocktail shaker or stirring glass
- Lemon or lime slices for garnish
Steps:
This cocktail is so fun to have in the summertime! The combination of the bubbly elderflower and apricot makes this drink feel much more light and celebratory (so feel free to bust it out at your girlfriend’s backyard birthday party this summer).
- Take two large spoonfuls of E.D.SMITH Triple Fruits Apricot, Peach, Passion Fruit and add to either cocktail shaker or stirring glass. Since we won’t actually be shaking up this drink (news flash: this could be a terrible idea with something as bubbly as elderflower soda), a long-stemmed stirring spoon will be your best friend.
- Pour lime juice into jigger and fill about halfway, then add to jam. Also add a splash of water to the jam and mix thoroughly with stirring spoon.
- Add in ice cubes or crushed ice into your stirring glass. Whatever kind of texture you’re feeling, really!
- Fill your jigger with vodka (however many times you desire) and add to your beverage. This cocktail also tastes really good with bourbon, so it’s your choice of alcohol at the end of the day!
- Pour your bottle of elderflower soda to the rest of your mixture and stir slowly with stirring spoon. When you’re done mixing, place the cocktail strainer on the mouth of your shaker or stirring glass.
- Pour yourself a drink and garnish with lemon or lime slices!
These two cocktails are super fun and really simple to make for the upcoming warmer months. Whether you’re just hanging out with some friends on your patio, catching some rays with your bestie or celebrating bae’s birthday, these delectable cocktails made with E.D.SMITH are sure to make you into a DIY cocktail queen.

I haven’t heard of jam cocktail until I read this post! Ok, I am already bought with the cocktail part XD. I really need to give this a try and I love how you’re using paper straws. Better for the environment than plastic straws :). Love how there are so many different cocktail mixes you can make out of these.

Oh man, jam cocktails are such a game changer!! And paper straws too haha. You can make an infinite number of different cocktails, which is seriously amazing!
